Halloween events and activities in Wokingham Borough

There’s lots of spooky, fun events and activities happening at Dinton Pastures and California Country Park in Wokingham Borough, this October. 

 

If you’re looking for ideas to keep children occupied during the October half-term, take a look at our Halloween calendar below. There’s also fun events for adults to get into the spirit of Halloween. 

 

2025 Halloween Calendar

 

Tuesday 28 October, 10am to 3pm - Halloween Fun Day

 

There's lots of fun in store at this year's Halloween Fun Day at California Country Park in Finchampstead. This free event is hosted by JL Events. 

 

The Wicked duo will be flying in for some amazing performances between 12 noon and 2pm. You can also meet and have your photo taken with them during this time. 

 

Don’t forget to dress up and come along in your best Halloween outfit as there’s a costume competition too. 

 

This family fun day out features: 

 

  • Performances by the Wicked duo and meet and greet (12 noon and 2pm)

  • Pumpkin hunt

  • Craft stalls

  • Children's rides

  • Food and drink including a barbecue

  • Face painting

  • Costume competition and more

 

 

Sunday 26 October, 10.30am to 3.30pm - Pumpkin Fair

 

Come and join us for some Autumnal fun at The Pumpkin Fair, hosted by JL Events at Dinton Pastures. 

 

Children can come in their best fancy dress and take part in a costume parade with prizes handed out by Jack Pumpkin. 

 

This great day out features: 

  • A costume parade

  • Seasonal activities

  • The pumpkin witch on stilts

  • Autumn photo opportunities

  • Food and drink stalls

  • Craft stalls

  • Rides

  • Bungee trampolines

  • Soft play centre

  • Games 

 

Entry is £1 per adult. Children under 16 years old are free. No booking required. 

 

Cash event - although most of our vendors take cash and card, signal can sometimes be tricky for card readers, so please consider bringing some cash along.

Dogs are welcome. On leads in the event area please. 

 

Please note, this is not a Pumpkin Patch event - although there may be some pumpkins to purchase. 

 

 

Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 October, 3pm to 5pm – Pumpkin Tea

 

Enjoy a delicious Pumpkin Tea with us and carve your very own pumpkin, with a prize for the best design. The event takes place at The Coffee House at Dinton Pastures. 

 

Suitable for children aged three to 12 years old. Every child must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Here’s what you can expect: 

 

  • Pumpkin Tea: Fish finger and chips, sausage and chips or chicken nuggets and chips vegetarian option available, with a jelly dessert

  • Warm Chino:  With a pumpkin cookie

  • Activity: Carve your own pumpkin (supplied by us) with a competition prize for the best pumpkin! Children will need to be supervised by parent or guardian during this activity

Wednesday 29 October, 5pm to 7pm - Halloween biscuit decorating

 

Put your artistic talents to good use and decorate some spooky biscuits at our Halloween Biscuit Decorating event

 

Run in partnership with local supplier BEEscuiteer. The event takes place at The Dinton Activity Centre. This is a fun activity for parents with children, and adults. 

 

Tickets cost:

  • £15 per child (age eight to 12 years old)

  • £25 per adult 

 

Please note a child ticket must be purchase with an accompanying adult ticket. All children, including aged 13 years and above, must be accompanied by an adult. 

 

A selection of soft drinks will be provided on the evening. An adult ticket includes eight biscuits to decorate. A child’s ticket includes four biscuits to decorate.
