Local Plan 2045 Scoping Consultation

Wokingham Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan 2045, which will help guide how the borough grows and develops over the coming years. This includes the future of our town centres and the management of land for different types of development including housing, employment and infrastructure. It will allocate land to help meet the need for development, particularly housing.

Have your say at an early stage

A Scoping Consultation in underway to gather views on the key planning issues, opportunities and priorities the new local plan should address. We are also seeking views on how we can best communicate and engage with people and organisations throughout the preparation of the plan. 

This is the first stage of the new plan-making process and gives an opportunity for residents, businesses, landowners and other stakeholders to help shape the direction of the plan from the outset.

The scoping consultation does not include proposed policies, site allocations or preferred strategies. We will consult on these at later stages of the plan.

The consultation is open until 11:59pm on Monday 16 November 2026.
